Fun filled weekend ahead!

I'm excited about this weekend. Usually, Bennett and I are at home while Stanley is out hunting, fishing, or shooting his bow at competitions...one day he believes he will be a "professional hunter." Is that even a real job? HaHa! Anyway, this weekend is going to be a blast full of family time!

For starters, my momma is coming into town to stay the weekend with us. To some, that may sound awful, but to be it is a true blessing. I never understood why my mother loves me so much until I had a child of my own. It's like there is this special bond that wasn't there for me before. For example, while I was pregnant I wanted to be around my sister all the time and my momma kinda, well, to be honest, got on my nerves. But now, I want my momma all the time. It's really hard for me to explain...all the mothers out there understand I'm sure. Anyway, I am my parent's only child that doesn't live within 30 minutes away from them. My brother and sister still live very close to my parents. Me, the baby, had to move away. Part of me really regrets that. I miss them so much and I wish more than anything that I could be close to them all the time. My mother is the type of mother that respects your privacy and wouldn't be in my hair all the time...unlike my in-laws who are CONSTANTLY in our business. She stayed with us for about a week and a half when Bennett was born and she was helpful, not intrusive. I just love her and can't wait to spend some time with her!!! Oh and she gets to spend time with her newest grand baby!!! Bennett will enjoy it I'm sure!
AND, this weekend, all four of us are going to an alumni rugby game at our (Stanley and I) alumnus. Stanley played football his first two years at Western Carolina University and then for the next three years (yes, he was on the 5 year plan) he played rugby. It is a brutal sport...a mix between soccer and football with no pads. Pray that he won't be injured during the game. The old boys play the current rugby team. This could be a bad thing! Check out this video of rugby! Even though it is so rough, I LOVE IT! I enjoy watching it of course. We are going to pack our bag and stay all day at our old university and play some rugby!!! I'm excited! So, this weekend is going to be a blast!
Oh, and my friend Amy's birthday is tomorrow so that is another reason to have fun! :) I hope that your weekend is just as nice!!!
**Please say a prayer for a dear friend from high school, Mike, who lost his mother this week.**

Carolina Pediatric Therapy

Okay, so I totally love my job. I have worked for Carolina Pediatric Therapy since January 2006. My official job title is "Early Childhood Intervention Specialist." In simple terms, I help children birth to three years old get back on their developmental goals. I have worked with children who are autistic, have downs syndrome, have cerebral palsy, speech delays, fine and gross motor delays, behavioral issues and much more. A lot of my job includes parent education as well. Our company itself specializes in Pediatric Speech, Physical, Occupational Therapy and Early Intervention. Not to brag, but my job is awesome! :)

I went to a monthly meeting last night for Carolina Peds. I have to have so many training hours per year to keep my certification, so I had to go. Bennett and I packed up and headed to Asheville for a two hour meeting. Not to brag, but my son was awesome! He was quiet, played well, and ate quietly. (I was at the mommy table in the back with three other moms and all together 6 kiddos. At one time during the meeting, all three of us were nursing our kids...) Okay, back to the meeting...The owner of Carolina Peds, Summer, was giving us some statistics on our company. Here's the awesome part...she told us that per month we have almost 2000 visits. That means, every month, children in our area are receiving services 2000 times per month. That doesn't mean 2000 kids because all children are seen more than once per month, but still! Isn't that awesome! It just touched my heart to know that we are making such a difference in the lives of families in our area!

Check us out!

Blank...

Okay, so I haven't blogged in a while and to be honest, there is nothing really to talk about.

I mean, I need a new baby sitter, but that is a whole ordeal in itself that I must admit I don't want to talk about!

Stan the man, my hubby, has reverted to a child like state wanting to play video games all day. (He didn't work yesterday, so he played PS2 for FOUR hours...That must be a man thing.) Tonight he is going to an old college buddy's house to play after work, some stupid game with guns and fighting. They have been talking crap back and forth for nearly two weeks about this game...Geez...Men! ;)

Bennett has decided to get sick out of nowhere. We pulled an all nighter together. (I must admit, it's hard getting up in the middle of the night when your little one is usually sleeping 11 hours a night!) He did turn 6 months old this week...meaning that Amy needs to do his pictures for me again! Please Amy...PLEASE...My photography guru who happens to be a great friend! My momma and sister sent Bennett a Happy Half Year Birthday present...Thanks! New bath toys and summer clothes! (Pictures to follow soon!)

Just a side note...Way to go Nicolas, Claudia's son...so glad you are pooping in the potty! :) (The things us moms talk about.)

Okay...so that's it...That's all I've got folks! :)

Time to show off Bennett

I love being a mom. Creating my son was the best thing I have ever done! My husband and I are so blessed to have such a calm natured, easily pleased, happy all the time baby boy.

Bennett was born on October 6th, 2008 after 21 hours of labor. He came out perfect and peeing!

What an amazing experience for Stanley and I to see and hear our first born son.

I'm telling you, he's perfect! :)

Bennett is now six months old, well on Monday he will be six months old. He has two teeth, is rolling over, sitting up (occassionally), and trying to crawl. He is still an easy baby...cries when he's hungry and sleeps nearly 15 hours a day...11 at night! :)

I never knew how much love a mother could have for their child. I thought I loved my husband a lot...Man, was I joking myself! I now appreciate my mother more than ever. I miss her...
